BAJC: Bay Area Jewish Coalition
We are grassroots
The Bay Area Jewish Coalition (BAJC) is a grassroots organization dedicated to ensuring that Jews and Israeli Americans thrive and live safely in the Bay Area of California. Formed in the wake of the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack in Israel, the BAJC addresses the alarming rise in antisemitism locally with impactful, community-driven solutions.
Our Commitment
Our focus is on the local challenges that directly affect our families and community. We believe in the power of unity and closely collaborate with other Jewish organizations. We are the “boots on the ground” to support Jewish families facing antisemitism in schools and colleges, and we advocate for the Jewish community with city officials and other local leaders. Additionally, we mobilize voters and form alliances with varied communities to help combat antisemitism.
Our Guiding Principals
Local Focus: Prioritize issues that directly impact our community, and advocate with local authorities to achieve tangible changes.
Bipartisan: Work across the political spectrum to advance our mission.
Community Power: Leverage the strengths and resources of our members to activate and mobilize community power.
Volunteer-Led: Volunteers who are passionate about helping their own community take on issues and projects.
Alliances
We are proud to partner with various organizations that advocate for our community locally and at the state level.
Jewish organizations - like the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), Anti-Defamation League (ADL), and Jewish Public Affairs Committee of California (JPAC) - share our overall mission to promote the safety and well-being of Jews in the Bay Area.
We also partner with organizations that represent other ethnic or cultural communities, such as Hindu-American Foundation and the Chinese community, which have experienced prejudice and discrimination in California and have shared political values or goals with us.
